Orbea Launches the New Oiz: Built to Fly

In recent years, the profile of XC riders has evolved toward greater specialization. Today's core riders train with clear goals, striving for maximum performance on race circuits and in the World Cup. Since its launch in 2005, the Oiz has remained a global benchmark, pioneering solutions like flexing chainstays, the Squidlock system, and patented I-Line technology. This new generation evolves the key aspects of Oiz to create its best version to date.

1. True Race Performance: Targeted Stiffness Three years of development have shaped a completely new frame designed to increase stiffness without compromising weight.

• Optimized Construction: Using advanced Finite Element Analysis and refined bonding processes, the bottom bracket area is lighter without losing structural stiffness. • Forged Aluminum Linkage: Smaller yet 30% lighter than the previous carbon version, supported by a new bridge that reinforces the seatstays and keeps the rear triangle perfectly aligned under load. • Advanced Carbon Layup: Eliminating abrupt transitions allows better carbon compaction and reduces epoxy resin, while the winged top tube and Powerspine structure optimize power transfer during explosive sprints. • On-Trail Impact: A stiffer frame saves watts on climbs through direct power transfer, improves line precision on descents, and minimizes main pivot torsion for smoother impact absorption.

2. Race Tuned Suspension and Evolved Geometry The Oiz consolidates its position as a 120 mm platform front and rear (compatible with 130 mm forks) with regressive kinematics that prioritize support early in the stroke to eliminate pedaling bob.

• Shorter Chainstays: Reduced from 432 mm to 430 mm for faster acceleration and responsiveness during explosive efforts. • Steeper Seat Tube: Places the rider in a more forward pedaling position, improving power transfer and front-wheel traction on steep climbs. • Slacker Head Angle: Adjusted to 66.8° for extra stability and control at high speeds. • I-Line & Squidlock: Internal I-Line cable routing through the top tube reduces friction, while the Squidlock system controls suspension lockout (3 positions) and dropper post from two compact handlebar levers.

3. Light Without Limits and Built to Keep You On Track The frame achieves a weight of just 1700 g (size M with shock), making it one of the lightest in its category without sacrificing stiffness or precision.
