The Yes Machine: The New Orbea Wild Shows a Different Path for Full Power eMTBs

How do you improve a bike that has built a reputation as one of the most capable eMTBs ever made? For the new Wild, Orbea refined it on the racetrack, focusing on performance in every detail. Rather than simply chasing maximum power, the brand chose a different path—prioritizing handling, precise control, and the connection between rider and trail.

Nature doesn't like straight lines; it bends and flows, soars and falls. The new Wild is built to match it, ensuring that whatever question the trail poses, the answer is always yes.

1. Built for the Bends: Rallon Kinematics and a Low Center of Gravity Speed demands stability. By carefully selecting a drive unit and optimizing the motor mounting area, Orbea was able to lower the shock mount position, the upper linkage, and the top tube. Keeping the mass low and central ensures the Wild stays calm and planted as speed and consequences rise. This design also maximizes standover clearance, giving the rider more space to maneuver and utilizing the brand's "Steep 'n' Deep" design for the deep insertion of long-travel dropper posts.

For the descents, the Wild directly benefits from lessons learned racing downhill. It shares the same active suspension kinematics as Orbea's enduro platform, the Rallon. With 170mm of rear travel and a progressive leverage ratio, the suspension smooths out rough tracks while maintaining predictable support, minimizing pedal kickback, and optimizing traction.

2. RS Tune: Faster Reactivity and Precise Control Creating a motor that matched Wild's capability meant tuning exactly how the assistance was delivered. While the bike integrates the Avinox M2S motor, the character of the ride is defined by Orbea's exclusive RS Tune. The development focused heavily on reactivity, meaning how quickly and naturally the motor responds to rider input.

• Instant Pedal Sensitivity: The RS tune makes the motor significantly more sensitive to pedal force and rotation, meaning support arrives instantly when it is needed most. • Technical Climb Control: This faster reactivity provides the precise control necessary for hill starts and pedal ratcheting on steep, technical climbs. • Maximum Torque: Combined with up to 130Nm of torque (150Nm with Superboost), the Wild delivers powerful, controlled support that reacts instantly to the rider and makes the difference between success and failure on technical climbs.

3. MyO and Integral Features for the Demanding Rider Every rider is unique, and through the MyOrbea (MyO) program, Wild can be tailored to their specific needs.

• Battery Options: Riders can select between a 600Wh battery to prioritize lower weight and agility, or an 800Wh battery for longer range. • Seamless RS Ecosystem: The RS Ecosystem seamlessly integrates motor control, ride information, and smart features. Using the single, ergonomic RS-HMI remote, riders can control the new MC10-RS Smart Dropper and the optional FOX eNeo shock directly from the handlebars. The entire system is powered by the bike's main battery, eliminating the need to charge separate components. • Frame Choices: Riders can choose between the OMR Carbon or High Polish Alloy versions, with Orbea working hard to include the exact same high-performance features and ride quality across both platforms. The alloy model uses advanced aluminum technologies to maintain the tuned rigidity and structural stiffness of its carbon counterpart. • Trail Reliability Features: Includes the Fully Loaded Pivot (which houses essential hex keys securely with a magnet), fully sealed pivot bearings to protect against grime, and Second Skin frame protection.
