Betronic is an electronics engineering and manufacturing company based in Amsterdam, with production facilities in the Netherlands and China. Founded in 1977, it was an early pioneer in the e-bike industry. Already 15 years ago, Betronic delivered its first components to major Dutch customers.

Betronic EDS (E-Drive Solutions)

Betronic EDS has consolidated all the expertise and experience gained over 15 years of collaboration with clients in the bicycle industry (both in development and production) into a market-leading integrated e-drive system. This system can be configured for both hub motors and mid-drive motors.

The e-drive system consists of all essential components, mostly developed and manufactured in-house: motor controller, motor, battery, display and/or control module, GPS tracker, sensors, and cabling.

Innovation is in our DNA, which is why we can complement the standard kit with tailor-made solutions. At Betronic, we understand that the world of e-bikes is constantly evolving.

Unique proposition

For bicycle brands, expressing their own identity is essential. Our e-drive system and our development and production capabilities make this possible. Betronic EDS offers:

• Customization options for standard components such as motor controllers and displays. The Betronic motor controller can be tuned to reflect riding behavior and support modes for different target groups. The display GUI can be adapted to any brand style.
• Development and production of unique components, such as integrated displays that seamlessly fit the bike design.
• Integration of existing, preferred OEM components into the e-drive system after validation.

Driven by the electrification of society, the value and use of bicycles have significantly increased over the past decade. Unfortunately, this also applies to bicycle theft. The importance of tracking the location and movements of bicycles has grown. That’s why Betronic EDS developed a KIWA-certified connectivity solution, launched on the Dutch market by AXA In / Allegion. With our IoT device, users can track (stolen) bicycles via an app.
