A smart tool no workshop should be without
Every mechanic knows the issue: you cut a piece of outer cable from the reel, and the cut end becomes squashed, making it hard to slide on a ferrule or the liner gets pinched closed so the inner cable won’t feed through. With the Elvedes Cable Pricker, both problems are solved in one simple action.
How does it work?
The Elvedes tool features a tapered entry that reforms the outer housing back to its original round profile. At the end of this tapered section is a precision pin that punches open the liner. Push the housing fully into the tool, give it a quick twist, and the cable end is restored to a perfect round shape with the liner opened up. Ready for the inner cable and ferrule.
Compatible with Ø4.1 mm and Ø4.9 mm housings
Traditional spiral-wound brake housing typically uses Ø4.9 mm outer diameter.
For index gear housing with linear strands, both Ø4.1 mm and Ø4.9 mm are common sizes.
The Elvedes Cable Pricker has two ends: one for Ø4.9 mm cable and the other for Ø4.1 mm cable. So you always have the right fit.
